Note from the author:
Welcome to this site. It is designed to give you the tools to get results quickly and consistently. You may go directly to the APPLICATIONS menu/tab and click on the links listed there that lead to the design tools and choose the ones you need. User guides and explanations are built into each. You may run multiple instances of each or all and you may make hardcopy or electronic copies formatted and referenced to your project.

For more general background, you may like to see the brief overviews under STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS and USERS menu/tabs here.

(There is also a set of calculators for general uses associated with everyday engineering including, units conversions, number systems, and solutions to equation)

The Applications lead you directly to the answers (ratings and sizes) with prompts. It will take you only minutes to find the rating of that breaker, that fuse, that conductor, and other values, and you can print it out and do it again. You can look at the cell notes, the user guides, and the references to dig deeper, understand, and consider the results. This is your alternative, as a first pass, to spreading out a few Standards publications, each one with bookmarks to flip from one section to another, a pile of manuals that you got from a class you took somewhere, something you noted down but you forgot where, looking at a Google search on UL 508A with the many varied hits, a blank Excel open on another screen, notepads, calculators, being careful not to knock over that cold cup of coffee.
(You can come back later to see if all your results look good with whatever methods your have used before).
All results can be printed hardcopy, pdf, or other electronic medium.
Format allows for entry of particular project, section, equipment, down to device references and conductor numbers.

The legal wording below is derived from similar language that appears within the Standards and the Regulations publications themselves (which, through the years, to the point, continue to be amended and sometimes specifically corrected). Basically all sources, including their very roots, must and do disclaim liability in order to be able to publish what they believe is the current and correct foundational information.
It does mean though that you, the Engineer within this profession, are solely responsible for your design decisions. This is and was always the case.
On the other hand, the publications are written by dedicated and experienced engineers after exhaustive research, testing, and deliberation, and with that same methodology and ethic, are prepared and maintained the design tools and information on this site.
